msqsrv32 not responding
Program slows down then freezes, I have to go ctrl, alt, delete
click on msqsrv32 not responding and end task, then things work ok.
Anyway to fix this from happening?
Appreciate your help....

Msgsvr32.exe is the Windows system program that handles how program's message boxes are displayed to the user. Msgsvr32.exe crashing simply means that you won't be seeing the message box that your program might be trying to show. It's rarely the cause of a problem, more often just a by-product of it.
What's the program that's slowing down and freezing. Are any other error messages displayed?

Thanks for info,
Main problem is with simply accounting and ms outlook but it could happen with any program, seems like when I end task on msqsvr32(not responding) things go back to normal during session until I restart computer the next day. Then at some point, usually early into session, computer will freeze and I have to end this msqsvr32
Thanks,

Which version of Outlook are you running? Is this a business PC or a home system?

Hi,
I am using a home system....not sure what version of Outlook I am using,
it came with windows98. It's not outlook express if that's what you mean.
Thanks,

Microsoft Outlook doesn't come bundled with Windows 98 so it's something that the system builder / manufacturer has installed separately.
If you start Outlook, then go to the Help menu and click About Microsoft Outlook, a box will appear with a version number in it. Version 7 is Outlook 95, version 8 is Outlook 97, version 9 is Outlook 2000 and version 10 is Outlook 2002.
Re-installing Outlook from the original CD may overwrite whatever file is causing a problem and resolve the issue. But, if you can tell us the Outlook version number, we might be able to help you find the specific file that is causing the problem.

Sorry for delay in responding.....
It's Outlook 2000, but the problem is not confined to this program.
Perhaps my system is just clogging up. I have a 6 gig hard drive and its pretty well maxed out. I have uninstalled a couple of misc. programs in order to free up 1 gig of hard drive space. I have 60 short cut Icons on my desktop, could this slow system down as well?
I can still manage ok it's just a nuisance having to wait until msqsrv32 stops responding then end task before I can continue.
Thanks for your help.

There's nothing at all on Microsoft's support site about this being a known problem with Outlook. I guess that re-installing Outlook would probably be the best way forward (back up your Outlook data first though, just in case).
Having a desktop filled up with icons means that your desktop will take a little longer to display / refresh but it won't have an impact on other areas of the system.

I have been using AVG 7.5 Build 550, which is trying to update with a massive fileof over 40000 KW but fails to complete, pc hangs, and have to use Ctl,Alt,Del to fet back in. I also use Mailwasher, and have to shut it down to see emails.
Please advise.
