    Unhappy Computer can't boot anymore

    Hello,
My computer won't boot anymore. Recently this problem occured but was resolved with a switch off and on. But yesterday I tried many times and with many different ways without success.

    Here is the problem:
just after the power switch is on, the HDD led gets on and won't switch off, and nothing appears on the screen. The HDD seem not start rotating. I checked the voltage to the HDD (5V and 12V are OK).

If I switch on the speakers connected to the motherboard (Asus P4P-800 E Deluxe) internal sound card, the following bios error can be heard: "CPU error: CPU failed". No post beep codes are emitted. The CPU fan (Zalman) is rotating normaly.

I tried changing the cpu (Intel P4 3.2 GHz), with another I have, carefully cleaning and setting again the special thermal paste. But the same error occurs.

I then tried booting without HDD connected (2x sata in raid 0), but the same error and HDD led happened.

Thanks for any advice or help,
    Julien

Tough one, I would try moving the SATA to a different slot.I realize this might take out the raid but if you can boil it down to being a bad slot on your Motherboard you may be ablet o get a couple of IDE hard drives. (if you have IDE capabilities) and copy your stuff over (via Norton ghost or some other transfer program) and set up the raid for the IDE's not optimal but better thas replacing your board. that would also tell you if you have a hard drive or motherboard problem.
