The message D:\is not accessible device is not ready, appears when clicking CD-ROM on my computer. Have searched the web and have noticed that this seems to be a common problem. Have tried all suggestions without success. The device manager shows this CD-ROM to be working OK.
My OS is windows 98. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what the above statement encompasses.......

Open Device Manager and highlight/remove the CDROM. Restart. The Hardware Wizard should start upon the next boot and reinstall drivers/resources for the CDROM.
