installing windows me and killed it midstream so i could format the hard drive, ran fdisk and then tried to run format but all i get is invalid media type reading drive c
help please

have you got the BIOS to boot from the CD

dont know how to change bios

when the PC first starts up and counts the RAM you'll see instructions along the top somethine DEL set up, if you press DEL it should take you to the BIOS.

i can get into configuration/setup utility, what next

I take it the boot disc is a CD?

when you get to the set up it lists the boot devices you need to alter them so that
first boot device = floppy
second boot device = CD ROM
third boot device = hard drive

if not make sure you have booted with disk support and have made a new partition in fdisk then restart and use the command line: Format c:
press Y And then press the enter key

if that doesnt work look if there is any reserved memory in your bias if there is then remove it and try again.
