With regard to your error...

I had a look around and probably the best thing to do first is follow these instructions and tell me what the scan finds...You will need your Windows 2000 CD to hand.

Click Start
Click Run
Type sfc /scannow

Thanks. I tried the sfc / scannow and it just goes away, nothing occurs, Do I have to have the cd in place?

I do not have the win 2000 cd because I took the computer to work and the it guy installe a new hard drive and installed 2000 himself.

ANy Ideas? I have spaces between.. sfc / scannow

The proper command is sfc /scannow

There is a space following the c but no space following the /

something is screwed up here. my post is under your heading??? you must have replied to it but i do not read your response. only my post

You need a cd burner as well as software to save to cd. If you only have a reader it won't work. It's not quite the same as floppys.
