    ME Insallation

    Hi

I have just purchased an old Pentium 3 from my local university for my son to use for his homework. The university have removed Windows but I have an original Windows ME disc which will be more than adequate for my sons needs at this present moment in time.

My problem is, I can't seem to get the computer to boot up from the CD so that I can install Windows ME.

Could someone please tell me how to install ME on a computer that has no operating system on it...

Sorry if it seems like a dumb question, but I'm a bit of a technophobe I'm afraid...

    Many thanks

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

can you get into the BIOS to get it to boot from CD?

(pressing delete as the machine powers up may do that)

I've got into the BIOS but can't seem to change the boot order. I get the boot order highlighted and hit 'enter' but it just moves me on to the next setting in the list.

to change the settings you may have to use the page up/down keys.

once you've altered the setting you need to save the settings and exit.

    what BIOS is it?
