I heard that it is possible to change the text ' Its now safe to turn off your computer'.How can i do that?Also can i add sound to it?

I think that the TweakUI utility in the Windows 98 Power Toys program might be what you're looking for. I don't have Windows 98 installed so I can't check but it would only take you a minute to install it and see if it's what you wanted.

You can find it on your Windows 98 CDROM in the Tools\Reskit\Powertoy folder.

What i was talking about was modying the Logo.sys file using Paint and saving it.I wanted to this process in detail.

Um, I've done this before but it was a VERY long time ago. You're talking about the startup or shutdown screens, right? I think you have to rename this file to Logo.bmp, then open it in Paint, edit it, save it and then rename it back to Logo.sys.

Take a backup first though. By the way, it should be in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System I would think.
