Laptop and Dial-Up
Ok I need my laptop to have dial-up internet connection. However, it is not working, I have followed the instructions given to me to set up a connection but when i enter my username and password then press dial it gives me this error message"Error Message 633:"The modem(or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly."
I am sure the line is not used by anyone and it should not be something outside the computer because i connected it to another laptop before and that one was able to successfully connect.
I also sometimes get "Error 600: An operation is pending" as well as some other error messages I don't remember when I press the dial button.
I don't know if this is a problem but in the device manager, in the network adapters area, it does not have a "dial-up adapter" in there. Because my other laptop (the one that was able to connect) has one as well as the modem. This one has a modem but not a dial-up adapter. Thats why I suspect that this could be a problem.
Since my laptop came with a modem (Motorola MobileSURFR 56k Modem) wouldn't it come with a dial-up adapter as well?
When I press dial on my laptop that works, I can actually hear the dialing tones, but on the laptop that doesn't connect, I don't hear any dialing tone or anything and it gives me that error message.
Thanks for the help.
