After removing Windows 95 from my old Viglen PC, I successfully uploaded Windows 98 second edition, but the sound doesn't work anymore.
I have been through the various suggestions in Windows help, but they don't. Any ideas?

Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare) Once it's finished loading and running, look under Computer, Summary, Multimedia, or, under Multimedia, PCI / PnP Audio. This will tell you what sound devices you have available on your system. Post that information.

If your sound device is onboard sound as opposed to an add-in card in a motherboard slot, the onboard sound should be enabled in the bios . If it was with 95, and you haven't changed bios settings, it should still be enabled.
