How Do I enable the USB from the BIOS?

I just set up my old Windows 98 pc in my basement and I hooked up my MP3 Player to the USB port and it sayd USB Connected. Well when I go into My Computer to find my MP3 Player file it isn't showing up. I've done a little reasarch and I've seen where it says one problem might be that I dont have the USB enabled. I know how to get to the BIOS panel and I know I need to go under Integrated Peripherals but im not sure what i need to enable or change to make it work. Any help would be great. Also if there could be another problem that anyone knows of then feel free to tell me becuause anything would be helpful right now. Thanks

This might be a really stupid question to ask but where do I find what BIOS I have?

Bios information is on the very first screen you see on a cold boot. (Unless it's "masked/covered" by a computer manufacturers logo screen; Dell, IBM, Hewlett Packard, etc. These logo screens can usually be turned off in the bios. "Enable diagnostics screen" or similar.)

Open Device Manager and see if there is a listing for Universal Serial Bus controllers. If there isn't, then you may need to enter the bios setup utility and enable them. The bios setup switches should be clearly labeled.

If there is a listing, look for any yellow exclamation marks indicating a problem with them. If so, post back with the exact problem description.
