Thanks for your help, but i still need a little bit more regarding the modem, Recently a friend of mine had their computer upgraded from win 98 to win 2000, since then the have not been able to connect to the internet. Using your advice i found which modem they have and checked that it is working properly and accordingly to the computer it is working properly, but whenever they try to connect to the internet it says unable to connect to the internet as your modem is not connected properly or has a fault ERROR 692. Please help, Would buying a new modem be the answer? Or is there anything else i can do for them to solve the problem.
