I have had a lot of problems with my computerthis week. I have cleared some but I have no sound and the grafic can only have 16 colors. It came up a error message every time I started yhe computer that said something "msgsrv32". I read that it would help if i typed msgsrv32.exe in run. And it did, the sound came back and the error message didn't. But when I rebooted the computer the sound was gone again and it didn't help to do that again. I have also tried to press F1 when the hp-logo comes but that doesn't help either. In the control panel under sound it says that it is a problem but it can be fixed if i go to system in the control panel but the problem is that nothing happens when i press system.

The other problem is that when i want to change the colors the screen goes black and the computer crashes. But sometimes I manage to change (I don't know why it works sometimes) but the computer has to reboot and then it's back to 16 colors again.

Some help, please!

What is the exact HP model and #? You probably need to reload your drivers. HP will most likely have them online.

What led up to this? Did you have a virus? If so you might want to run a HijackThis log by our Pros over in that section:

You could also try a System Restore to a point prior to this problem but I doubt that it will restore your drivers:


start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
