i am having 2 operating systems (winxp and win2000 professional)..
i want to remove win2000 now..pls let me know how i can remove it..
also i was unable to open notepad in win xp..what may be the problem..

Do you have Windows 2000 and Windows XP installed on different partitions or is it all on the C:\ drive?

If Windows 2000 is completely contained on one partition, it might be best to just load up Windows XP and then format the Windows 2000 partition from the Computer Management application that is found under Administrative Tools.

If you installed Windows XP first and then Windows 2000 second, you might be able to boot up into Windows XP and then find a 'Windows 2000 uninstall' option in the Add/Remove Programs list in Control Panel.

Having Windows 2000 and XP installed on the same partition is very unusual and I think that, if you remove Windows 2000, it is likely to break Windows XP as well. This could result in your PC not starting up at all.

If you installed Windows 2000 first and then Windows XP afterwards, there will be no option to remove 2000 and you will have to leave it on the PC unless you want to format the hard disk to wipe everything off of it and start again from the beginning.

With regard to the problem of Notepad not running in Windows XP, I suggest that you post a new message with full details and any error messages in the Windows XP forum and someone should be able to help you there
