AMR Motherboad
I had to reload all my software and now have a "PCI Serial Controller" error
Windows 98 will not detect this. I believe this is a AMR Motherboard (P6VAP-A+)
I need a driver but have been unable to find one. The computer was by
Micro-Pro but they are no longer business (bought in 1999)
thanks

Sorry for the delayed response. Did you resolve this then?

This could likely be a modem. (It would be on a Serial Comm Port.) It could be either a seperate peripheral card in a motherboard slot, or an "on-board" modem.
If there is a connector for a phone line on the machine, remove the cover and see if the connector is a card in a slot on the motherboard, or if it is a "connector plate" with a small cable going directly to the motherboard. This would be an on-board modem.
If it's a card in a slot, pull it and procure what information from it that you can. This includes the info on the two largest chips on the card.
A D-A-L hardware scan may turn up the chipset information and or make/model of the modem. If not, Everest Home Edition works very well.
These scans will provide much information about your machine.
Post back what you find. Depending on the size of the results, the scan output file(s) can be attached to your post using the "Manage Attachments" button below the advanced posting box.
Your motherboard is an ECS. Drivers can be found here.
