    Angry ethernet card install

Hello everyone , I just installed a star tech 10/100 fast ethernet card in my daughters old computer , this card was in her other computer but it up and quit needs a new mobo . The problem I'm haveing is it detected the new hardware installed but when I put in the driver floppy it says needs driver update with a bold yellow question mark beside it . I need the ethernet card to get online how can I update . Any help would be great .

    Thanks in advance , Wayne

Open Device Manager. (R-click My Computer, Properties, Device Manager.) Click on the + next to the Network Adapter and then R-click on the adapter and choose Properties. Click on the resulting Driver Tab and choose Update Driver, Next, and "Search for a better driver....", Next again.

It will probably have defaulted to Floppy Disk. If so, ensure your driver disk is in the drive and click Next. It should find the xxxxx.inf file on the floppy and proceed.

Is this how you were attempting the driver install?

    NOTE:
Your adapter may be listed under Other Devices as a PCI Ethernet Controller. Same procedure applies.
