Help Please,

I ran an AVG Scan a couple of weeks ago - It identified one viruses, instead of taking the corrrect action, Stupid me identified the infected file and deleted that.

There didn't seem to be much of a problem until the next time I started up my PC. The desktop appeared but I was unable to Launch AOL ther was also a message reading:

Error Starting Program
A required .DLL file, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WININET.DLL was not found.

In my wisdom I read some stuff on the Internet and downloaded a WININET.DLL to disk at work. I took it home and loaded it into Windows Explorer on my own PC.

Next time I started up my PC, the Desktop did not launch there was only a Blue Screen with the message

Windows Protection error

You need to restart your computer

System Halted


I restartec my computer which defaulted to start in SAFE MODE and there was another message stating

The WININET.DLL file is linked to missing export SHLWAP.DLL:SHRegGet ValueW.

My PC remains in Safe Mode and I am unable to launch the Internet

I fear this is the end !!!!!! Please Help an old Idiot
