I have a windows 2000 pro computer that had viruses, trojans, spyware, adware. I cleaned the computer. Now I am getting application pop-up errors for CICSHEXT.EXE. The instruction at 0x7c5ae35c references memory at 0xff9356cc. The memory could not be read, click o.k. to terminate program, giving me event 26 errors. Any help would be appreciated. I also get this in the safe mode. I'm also seeing SAVRT - auto protect could not scan file C:\winnt\system32\ati3d2ag.dll in the application error log.

how did you clean the computer? Did you wipe the drive and reinstall the system? or did you just defrag?

I used various spyware removal downloads, some adware removal downloads that I downloaded from spywarewarrior and Norton 2005. Thanks for responding

Yes, I do

ok, insert the cd-rom, restart your computer and on start up, enter the bios, i think it's (DEL button). Go to boot sequence and make the CD-ROM the first boot device. Then save and exit. It will wutomatically restart the computer and booot up normally, until it pauses and will say

Boot from CD-ROM, press any key to continue. press any key and then it will come up with a blue screen and make follow the steps. When it comes up with the choices, make a new partition and format the drive. Then delete the old partition. Then it will reinstall the OS. That should clear out the hard drive and the OS. That should do it. IF you have any questions, post again.

I know how to format and install the operating system, I wanted to prevent that...I'm just getting this pop-up about CICSHEXT.exe, do you know what that file is? Thanks for your help.

appearently it's an executable file but i have no clue what it does, but ill research it and try and get back to you.

thanks Jake, I have searched the internet over and over for the file to no avail, that is why I came here.

Im stuck on this on, and I can only think of one solution and that is to reset the system and reinstall the OS. But check with a MOD, and I suggest jephree, he's smart
