Tango, Dan will be with you as soon as he can, but until then, what flavor of 98 do you have? Is it First Edition (FE) or Second Edition (SE)

Believe it or not this is actually very important. Second Edition made some significant changes and the two are not interchangeable.

I have merged the "currently active" thread you started (on the same subject/problem) back into this original thread. (This thread title is a better problem description.)

The wsys049.sys file does not exist on either the 98FE or 98SE O/S CD's.

I have been searching for information on this file and it's intended application/execution, and found links to it being part of malware. I have not however, been able to duplicate those search results a second time as of yet. (I was trying earlier today actually, for this original thread.)

As a result I haven't posted back.
