Deleted Sound Driver - Please Help...!?!
I was messing about last night and have managed to delete my driver for the sound on my pc. I think it might have been something like CMI ?? I have completed a system scan and below are the results - I'm Stuck as what driver I need as it looks like a Modem file ?? when ive been looking it up. I have read through some of the other threads but thought this wolud be quicker, any help would be greatfully received. thanks Nick.

Hi Spud,
Thanks for your help, Ive not sorted it yet but I have downloaded the "Driver Guide" Toolkit Programme from DriverGuide.com and it brought up the following info. in "Identify unknown devices"
OS: Windows 98 SE
Hardware ID Derived Info
Device id: PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3059&SUBSYS_030113F6&REV_50
Bus: PCI
Vendor: VIA Technologies Inc
Device: VT8233/A AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller
The thing is when you click the search for driver it brings up "Printer Plotter Mulit office"?? which is a bit odd??
So I have gone to VIA Arena and think that I have found the driver but as it is 6.16Mb and I dont have broadbroad band Its gonna take a while !!
Will keep you posted on my progress.
Thanks again, Nick.

that is ok thyen good luck

It works !!!!!!!!!!! I have sound again !!!!!!!
If anyone is struggling with drivers download the evaluation version of DriverGuide Toolkit (v1.1).
It helped me to find out what device I had installed.
In the end I downloaded " Vinyl_AudioCodec_V650a" From Via arena.
Thanks Nick.
