    Unhappy Boot_file_missing (2k)

ok a long time ago i had a hard drive that i wanted to install windows so insterted the disk *pop* and installed the first part then it had to restart and then it said Boot_missing_file too fast to get all the number a lot of zeros and then told me to restart and stuff so i was totally and just put it aside and got a totally new computer (cause it was pretty old in the first place) but now i want to use it just to fall back on just incase and i lost the disk . I do have the disk files on my external hard drive but i dont want to do anything ilegal (of coarse) and i CAN acess the hard drive under E:/ is there any way to get 2k back on there legally or do i have to buy a new disk? thx for all the help thx.. (oh yea and if you know a REALLY good hard drive cloner that'd be super awesome) (the 60g hard drive is the one with the problems with the Boot_missing_file with 2k and a 4g hard drive with a totally great and functional 2k on it help is greatly appreciated HaPpY hOlIdAyS!!!

If you have your product number you can use any 2K disk. Unless you literally copied your 2K disk to the hard drive I doubt that the setup files are there. If you had copied the disk you could perhaps create and burn an ISO image in order to recreate the original CD.

As to cloning most hard drive manufacturer's have a cloning option within their setup software e.g. Maxtor uses MaxBlast. Go to the manufacturer's web site and look for downloads | utilities etc.

Otherwise you can buy software such as Norton's Ghost.
