I have a Dell Latitude laptop with win98. Some system files got corrupted and I am trying to re-instal the OS.
I have a 98 boot disk, but the problem is that the laptop has exchangeable CD and floppy drives.

When I boot from the floppy, then the CD isn't recognised and I can't boot from the CD!

I tried copying the files from the boot disk onto the C drive and then booting normally but this does not help.

I tried to go into BIOS to see if I could force a boot from cd and have tried every combination of holding down keys to force this with no result. The only way I can get into bios is to boot up with the HDD unplugged. It then prompts me to hit f2 to enter setup. Unfortunately this does not show the cd and does not even offer alternative boot options.


Can anyone help please??
