Hi,

I am unable to open my "Internet options" file from start/settings/control panel. the file does not open on clicking the icon. The problem occured 3/4 days ago, on 3.12.05

I have already tried opening :
1. In safe mode.
2. From IE tools
3. I tried Scanreg/restore from ms Dos for 5.12.05 This did not work either (The reg data is only avalable from 5.12 to 7.12)

The file may have become corrupted. Pl advise what to do next.

Have you tried to open it by Start, Run, inetcpl.cpl ? This bypasses the shortcut. (The shortcut may be damaged.)

Are you saying the backups are from May & July? Was the system off for that long or has the scanreg option been turned off in msconfig?
