Can anyone tell how to split the screen? I've used the arrows but with no luck but was able to do it before I change to Earthlink. Now I have all kinds of taskbars which more than one is superfluous. Also, my "START" is now on top rather than on the bottom of the screen.

Are you speaking of multiple windows in IE?

By Taskbars do you mean toolbars at the top of the screen? Do you see ant ID on these bars? e.g. Google?

The start button is on the windows task bar. This can be moved to any edge of the screen.

To move the taskbar
Right-click the taskbar.
On the menu that appears, click Lock the Taskbar to clear
the check mark.
The taskbar is now unlocked. You can drag the taskbar to
a new location on the desktop.

If this all started with Earthlink you may want to uninstall & reinstall in an advanced mode where you can choose what is loaded. They most likely have a default load of superfluous software.
