98se graphics

    Unhappy 98se graphics

    hi i have a packard bell that ran factory installed windowsme, my hard drive went so had to install another,but having no disc for me have installed 98se but now cant get the graphics right on it.has anyone any ideas.i am a complete novice so please take it easy with me.

    did you not have any discs with the PC? the recovery disc should've had ME plus all the drivers for your sound and graphics.

    what model is the PC?

    hi no i dident have discs m.e was already installed,the model is packard bell intell pentium i have a recovery disc for m.e but lost m.e when i put a new hard drive in.cheers

    Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. Once it's running, look under Computer, Summary, Display, or under Display, PCI/AGP Video. This will tell you what display adapter/chip you have. Post that information. (Video Adapter and 3D Accelerator.)

    hi i have douwnloaded everest home and the info you asked for is video adapter.standard pci graphics adapter(vga) 3d accelerater is intel i752. i downloaded to open file so it has gone to a tempary file will i loose this when the computer switches off,sorry i told you i am a amature at this.thanks for trying for me

    The driver file you need is win9xe67.exe. You can get it directly from Intel here.

    Download it and run it on the machine. Post back with your results.
