From the mapleglobal site;
( http://www.mapleglobal.com/ ) Support
Q. I see "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D" on the screen.
A. MapleStory uses the 3D graphic engine. You won't be able to enjoy the game if your graphic card does not support 3D graphic engine. Check to see that your graphic card supports the 3D, and then please check to see if you have installed the latest driver available for your card.
When i tried to download it,it said that QuickTime does not understand this program and then it closed.What do i do?
QuickTime is a Multi-Media player. I don't understand (yet) why Quicktime would try to open/run a driver file.
What is the name of the file you're downloading?
Can you post a link to it?
Do you know what display adapter you're using?
i was downloading Direct3D to my computerOriginally Posted by Dan Penny
i don't know what a display adapter is.....
The display adapter is the part of the computer which delivers the output or images to your monitor screen. It can be in the form of a seperate card which is inserted into an expansion slot on the computer motherboard, or it can be a "chip" (or two) directly on the motherboard. This latter configuration is known as "On-Board" video.
Whichever type you have, it must have the proper drivers loaded into the Operating System (Windows 98 in this case) to realize the full capabilities of the card (or chip). All adapters (or chips) will work in basic mode (16 colours, 640 X 480 screen resolution) to deliver the computer output to your monitor screen.
To find out what display adapter you have, download, install, and run Everest Home Edition (a spyware and ad-ware clean Freeware program).
Once it's loaded, choose the Report Wizard, save ALL PAGES in HTML format to your Desktop. Name it Hardware or anything you like. Close Everest and click on this new report file. Scroll down to the section for PCI / AGP Video. It will look similar to the below example from my machine;
PCI / AGP Video
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Device Description Device Type
ATI Rage128 GL (ATI All-in-Wonder 128 Pro) Video Adapter
ATI Rage128 GL 3D Accelerator
Post back what is listed for the Video Adapter line and the 3D Accelerator line on your machine.
what do you mean by save ALL PAGES in HTML format to your desktop?
(you can call me stupid)
I think i don't have agp video.

Once you open the Everest program (after it's installed) click on Report (on the menu bar), then click on Report Wizard. Follow the prompts. This report will save time later on if we need additional info about your hardware.
I think i don't have agp video.
When the Everest program is open, click on the Display icon in the left pane, then click on PCI / AGP Video in the right pane. If you have an AGP (Advanced Graphics Processor) it will be listed in the resulting window as the second line. It may be titled 3D Accelerator under "Device Type".
So i did all that your posts said, so now should MapleStory work?Originally Posted by Dan Penny
