When I installed Windows 2000 (formatted C and clean installed), the display schemes changed. A pattern appears on parts of the screen and distorts/hides some of the text. I tried changing the options that had a patttern but to no avail. Next step?

Have you installed the graphics drivers?
I honestly am not sure. If it requires a separate CD, then no. Also, I have been unsuccessful in finding/installing drivers for "multimedia audio" and "video controller (VGA compatible). I got lost searching for the appropriate drivers on microsoft.com.
Download Everest from the link in my signature, install and run it. It will tell you what video and audio you have. Then we can locate the right drivers for it.
Thank you. Below are the results of the hardware scan of my computer.Originally Posted by Tassie Devil

Thank you brain_damage and tassiedevil for your help. I finally found (bought) a program called driver detective. It found the proper driver in 2 minutes. Driver name is nothing like the drivers I got from HP/Compaq and MS. I am now up and running in Win 2K.
Sorry I didnt get back to you, been reinstalling my system which crashed. Glad you found the right drivers.
