I run win 2000, every time I click on "my computer" to open explorer I get a box which say's
WORK OFFLINE
No connection to the internet is currently available. To view internet content that has been saved on your computer click work offline
Click try again to try to connect.
Followed by two boxes "work offline" and "try again"

I would like to stop this appearing. I do not have a modem on this computer at the moment.

You might try reading the suggested fixes here Just be very careful if you go editing the registry, make a backup first.
The other thing I found mentioned is keeping up to date with windows updates. These often fix bugs in the system. Have you any way of connecting the machine to the net?
