    Unhappy os installation mistake

    hello!

okay, here's the thing i got a computer that came with wins 2000 in chinese! but i got a wins xp cd english. i wanted xp so much!! so i decided to install it but they said i have have to do a full installation cant do an ungrade bcos of the language thing.

alright i'm installing and they ask me a bunch of questions and started to rethink doing that installation! .... i dont want to loose that data that i have after all and dont have any other thing to back it up on so i cancelled it. And NOW Whenever i turn on the sys. its showing the OS OPtion ( i have got 2 win2kpro and networking) screen and its FIXED on "continue installing win xp thing" !! HOW DO I REmove that OPTION???

Its annoying and i have to tend to the computer everytime i start it and make sure it doesnt go into that third option. it like it default on the third option (the continue installing xp thing)

PS: there's a sticker on the computer that says "designed for win xp" does that mean that XP will DEfinitely have all the drivers and stuff??

if you dont want lo lose data, you could put the HD in a different comp as slave and copy the important things to cd or dvd
PS: there's a sticker on the computer that says "designed for win xp" does that mean that XP will DEfinitely have all the drivers and stuff??
it won't have the drivers (graphic drivers ect<<these may be on a cd that came with your pc) what it meens is it has all the requirements that win xp needs.

cant you boot from one of the win 2k options?

oh right sorry, can you get into bios? if so check to see if your hard drive is at the top of the "Boot sequence" list if it isnt, change it and reboot computer.
If that doesnt work, insert your win 2000 disk (with your cd drive at the top the boot sequence list) and follow these instructions: http://www.windowsreinstall.com/wind...pair/index.htm
