I have started to upgrade my father in laws pc. Taken his hard drive from an old compaq pentium 1 and wanted to throw it and a spare hard drive I have in to an IPEX P3 650 Mhz machine. I have completed this though when I went to install W2K, it starts ok and goes through to the WINDOWS 2000 screen and builds half the line across the bottom before going and rebooting itself. The IPEX has an external TNT graphics card. If I put a 98 harddrive in it needs to boot in to safe mode as it tries to install the monitor all the time.

What do I do ?

If anyone can help it would be great.

Did you attempt to install with only the one drive installed?
