    Talking Auto Exec problem?

Please see /Auto Exec file contents:

    rem - By Windows 98 Network - D:\WINDOWS\net start
    rem - By Windows 98 Network - D:\WINDOWS\net start

Is this OK? I am not on a network. Have trouble with Dial Up Network call s up and starts tp put my computer on Standby. I do not know how this happens.

If you have successfully created a working connection to the internet, and this is the only machine (no others sharing an internet connection through a router), any references to a "network" can be removed.

The "remmed out" lines in autoexec.bat are fine. Also open Control Panel, Network, and remove "Client for Microsoft Networks". It will tell you; "Your network is not complete. Do you wish to continue?". Confirm YES, and exit. You will get this message every time you open NETWORK in Control Panel, but just click YES and continue.

Post back if you experience any further problems.
