    Re: Administrator Log on

In the yahoo browser under help, it has an update, and when you click on it--it takes you to this page http://sbc.software.yahoo.com/ysftc/...come?flow=brow

Then when we click next, the available updates will come up, and then that admin. gig..and no downloads.
Sorry, I thought included everything, need to slow down and check what I am reading and writing LoL still have not figured out where I posted an answer to one of your questions, that has since been answered again, or for some reason, it just didn't post, was on her computer, and it will sometimes do you that way LoL
If you need more, please let me know.
    Blessings

OK, I didn't get far not being a member. I couldn't even get into the help/support areas. Hmmm. (Scratches head...)

Well, have come to find out, that alot of the problems, is the browser itself, and are in the market for a new one (any suggestions)....
The 98Se has all them problems in that browser only, and I also downloaded it to mine, and I get tons of script errors, and when I go to a site such as pogo games, the pages will not display properly, or only partially, so I went to internet explorer (swore I would never use it), which I am not particularly fond of LoL , but, it solved alot of the mentioned problems on both computers, so my advice to anyone having related issues, may want to also shop for another browser since this is their "just released", hats off to Beth for figuring that one out, because I had already consulted with a dell technician, and we were talking settings, which quickly switched to browsers, and he recommended firefox, but I have been reading some not so good things here of late to the effect of security issues...
I would say that you could safely close this thread, seeing that we all agree that the admin. feature does not really apply when SbC/Yahoo seems to be the only program requiring it, as I would say, that they are not worth it since it does not work properly anyways, and am curious to see if another browser might require it LoL
Her AoL doesn't, but hey, from what I hear, they're not predjudicial on whose computer they take over LoL
Sincerest Blessings and the deepest gratitude for your time and effort, and don't scratch too hard, because before Beth figured it out, I had already wore a flat spot from scratching mine LoL
So, that should make the score about 20-1 in your favor-Heh
You people provide an in-valuable service here---kudos
Not sure why you can't browse--think they would be a little more user friendly ???

I use IE 6.0.2800.1106 myself. I've never had a problem. I tried Firefox for a short while (on and off for a week or two), but went back to IE. I've never has a virus or anything, I guess I lead a boring life. ;>) I practice "safe surfing" though, and don't open any emails or attachments that I don't know where they came from. (I contribute to several help forums, and between helping and searching/researching for this help, I don't have time to go anywhere else. ;>) And yes, there are recently reported security breaches re; Firefox. (I subscribe to several IT newsletters, security watches, etc.)

"I would say that you could safely close this thread, seeing that we all agree that the admin. feature does not really apply when SbC/Yahoo seems to be the only program requiring it, as I would say, that they are not worth it since it does not work properly anyways, and am curious to see if another browser might require it LoL"
I haven't seen this problem/requirement before, as stated in my first response. I tend to think (after everything that's come to light) it's application specific. (SbC/Yahoo)

"Not sure why you can't browse--think they would be a little more user friendly ???"
You'd think. If I choose to investigate on the premise that I might want to partake in the service, the avenues are limited until I become a member. (At least as far as I found with the time spent there.)

Heh, AoHell, used to be with them from 5.0 to 7.0, applied for and was accepted as a BETA tester for 8.0. Did my reports, was ignored, and then proceeded to change my ISP as I knew what was coming. ;>)

"... from what I hear, they're not predjudicial on whose computer they take over LoL"
    True, true.

Thanks for the kind words. We're doing our best to make D-A-L one of the top help forum sites available.

I'll leave the thread open for a day or three in case anything turns up on either end, yours/mine. (I can't stand giving up unless totally defeated by software structure that cannot be altered.)

Bless You Dear Sir, and I agree wholeheartedly, I know what you mean, am currently working with jephree on an issue, to which I have been relentless, but windows can be a tough kookie to crack, at times (search results won't close and related issues (WmP)...
I had been trying to figure that admin. thing for awhile before I tucked my tail, and came running to the experts here; and, of course, Sbc/yahoos' response is to re-install, and I can't even count the times that--that was done; you think trying to browse the site is fun, try talking to them (brings back meories of what yahoo really means--A crude or brutish person.) LoL
I still can not understand how a browser can cause so many different errors and requests--guess I have alot more to learn in this fascinating world of computer software technology.
Also, think I will go back to the Ie6 myself, not to bad, once given a chance, and it works well from my experience so far; I just thought it was too slow (dial up days)...
Am certainly willing to give up a few extras that these other programs offer to entice you, to ensure a more user friendly atmosphere for myself and the computers, but the wife is a die hard fan of some of these programs, to which, until the day comes, that they find that all perfect program, she points out, that they all have faults (so true)...(I just try to go for the lesser of two evils).
Ok, as Beth would say "enough nattering", as I tend to get off a tangent at times.
Full speed ahead and don't slow down.
    Sincerest Blessings
Ps: figure you've probaly seen this, but would like to add something I seen in another post else where--They say that when you play a music Cd backwards that you here demonic voices--but, if you play a microsoft Cd forwards- it installs windows
