System starts, can log in but no startmenu, desktop or icons.
My computer (win2k updated) starts without problem, I can log in as administrator but then it stops. No icons, no startmenu, nothing.
I've rebooted several times but no help, tried safe mode too.
I can start the Task Manager and from there manually start programs with "New Task". I started "Computer Management" and in the "Event viewer" i found some error messages.
----
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
BTKRNL
MRxSmb
NetBIOS
NetBT
NUVision
RasAcd
Rdbss
SYMTDI
Tcpip
----
is one of them
----
The Computer Browser service depends on the Server service which failed to start because of the following error:
No attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot.
----
and there seems to be a lot of them.
Any idea? I have norton Antivirus 2003 and it didn't find anything.
Plz help.

do you have a windows 200 o/s disk? if so, boot to cd (you will have to change BIOS to boot from cd 1st), i am not too sure about win 2000, but on xp there is a recovery console, see if you can find it (by entering setup)
If you find it, type in BOOTFIX or FIXBOOT
hope this helps, sorry if it doesnt
, sorry for the lack of info but im not verry "well up" on win 2k

out of curiosity, if you put 'explorer.exe' as the new task, does it show the desktop?
