Does the system "touch" the floppy drive if connected during a boot? (ie; does the drive light blink ON for a moment.)
If there is no way to control the system on bootup, the hard disk can be removed and with a 2-1/2" to 3-1/2" data cable adapter (couple of dollars) connected to a desktop system for drive analysis/corrections.
