Maybe an answer? My computer locks up, will not shut down, cannot use
(ctrl - alt - delete), available memory is low, freezes when attempting to
connect to the internet. Thanks. At least now I know it has been hijacked!

Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.
(Not in this section please).

If you cannot connect to the internet then download HijackThis on another computer; copy to a floppy then run it on the infected machine.
Export the log back to the floppy then post back via the other computer.
