My Graphics card is preventing Windows startup!
I recently installed the updated catalyst drivers for my ATI Radeon Pro 9800. While attempting to run several games, i noticed severe graphical errors. I attempted to change the Drivers back to their older versions, using ATI's troubleshooter as a guide. While doing this, i was told that the necessary files were unavailable, and that i needed the original ATI installation disk. I purchased my card on OEM, so i had obtained my drivers originally via a free pc magazine disc. I recovered this and attempted to reinstall the original drivers. I was told that there was an error during installation, and that i should switch my driver to a windows VGA one. When i tried to do this, i kept getting 'file not found messages'.
When i restarted my pc in refused to load Windows ME, stopping at 'DMI pool data' line. I tried a step-by-step installation, and something strange happened. After it loaded 'msmouse', it made an error sound, and then the windows startup tune, but remained on the startup screen. What on earth do i do to get it working, and restore my graphics so that i can go back to playing Battlefield Vietnam without graphics stretching across the screen?

During these driver changes were you uninstalling the old before installing the new?
The VGA suggests returning to your on-board graphics chip.
Can you boot into Safe Mode?
If so: then uninstall all graphics drivers under Device Manager & uninstall all Catalyst Programs under Add/Remove Programs.
Reboot & attempt to reinstall the latest Catalyst package.
