    No CD Playback

Hey. A couple of weeks ago, I could play an audio CD on my computer just fine. Recently, I haven't been able to. Windows media pops up with a message about how it "encountered an error when reading the CD-Rom drive in Digital Mode." "Click OK to switch to analog mode." I press OK, and it just says how it can't play in digital mode and I should switch to analog. When I open the devices tab in the Tools/Options section, and try to open the properties for the cd drive, the window opens for a split second then closes.

Is it a virus? Or is my computer just really screwed up?
It worked a few weeks ago, I don't know how something could have gone wrong.

    Thanks.

Try removing the CDROM in Device Manager and rebooting. This should start the Hardware Wizard on the next boot and reassign the Windows parameters for the drive. However, if a software application/program has altered the drive parameters, these same parameters will be in place again.

"When I open the devices tab in the Tools/Options section,..."

"Tools/Options section" - Where is this? Tools/Options section of what?

    Skylander,

Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling WMP?
