    my pc randomly restarts itself all the time what could be wrong

    Random restarts can be caused by;

    Overheating (CPU, vid card temps)
    Bad or failing RAM
    Bad or failing or under powered power supply (drawing more than it can handle)
    Possible Driver Error
    O/S related (XP SP2 on some machines for example)
    (Blaster virus. Blaster does cause restarts.)

    Disconnect all external devices to see if it temporarily resolves the problem.

    Does the system restart while running in Safe Mode?

    If it doesn't happen in safe mode, open msconfig and choose "selective startup" (disable everything from starting) and reboot. Does the problem still happen? CAUTION - Your system may be unprotected (A.V. & Firewall etc) during this time.

    If not, start adding items back one at a time, rebooting after each, until the problem recurs. You will then have an idea where the problem lies. If the problem occurs after a selective startup then it is very likely hardware related.
