I installed a new HP all-in-one printer last night & it hosed my OS! I tried to reload but it shut's down in the middle of the reinstall of my OS.

Any & all help appreciated.

Did you install a driver off of the HP CD that was specifically for Windows ME?

I would assume so. I was never prompted for an O/S. This printer is supposed to ME compatible.

When you say "it hosed my OS", what exactly did it do?

Was it an HP PSC printer? I'm helping someone in the Windows 98 board with resources problems with one of those printers.

It got half-way through re-installing Windows. Does that mean that you can't get the system booted up at all now?

What's your processor speed (e.g. 800MHz) and memory size (e.g. 128Mb RAM) in your PC?

I fixed the problem. I pulled the HD out of this PC, put it in another PC, copied everything I needed, put it back in the troubled PC & loaded Windows XP Pro. The printer installed with no trouble. Everything is no OK.

Yes it is a HP PSC 1315 3-in-one. Works great now!
