1. I can't find and activate a file that is missing when I try to open a program that is called Ultimate Solitaire - 500 Games, made by valuesoft. The file mis- sing according to the message appearing when I try to open the program is:
DDRAW.DLL:DirectDrawCreateEx.
Where, how do I obtain that file and install it so that my game program runs as
it did prior to the restore I was forced to do recently?
2. Also the letters/words appearing in the screen of my CallWave have turned into greek characters/mathematical symbols.

You need to download the latest version of Microsoft's DirectX multimedia drivers, which includes DirectDraw. Note that your graphics card might not fully support all of the functions but it won't do any harm to install it anyway - just make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements.

You can get it from Microsoft's web site at http://www.microsoft.com/directx.

Once it's installed, run Windows Update to see if there are any security updates for DirectX.
