I recently installed a new hard drive into an old pc, and have since been met with loads of probs... only after installing the hard drive did i notice that I didn't have any of the drivers for the machine .. but anyway .. loaded in w2k and it started up and looked to be going ok had a small nitch with the graffics card but seems to be ok now .. went to load some software onto it and discovered the cdrom .. that was working as it let me install the operating system has now disappeared .. have I done something wrong? anyone any advice .. please !!!

When u check in device manager, is the CD-ROM listed there and just not displayed in "My Computer" or is it missing there as well ?

If its missing there, are there any devices marked with a yellow question mark ? Especially thinking about the IDE Controllers.
