No 32 bit option in display settings help!
I have put a hard drive in my friends computer which has windows 98 on it. It is working great except it is all in 16 bit colour. This didnt happen on the old computer the hard drive came out of or the computer that the hard drive went into.......help? It does not give me the option to change it to 32 bit in display settings.....

Hi, just to clarify..
If the PC had 32 bit graphics running OK before then it's most probably a driver issue. Download the latest drivers for the graphics card adn install them, if your not sure what graphics card the PC has then run our Hardware Scan which should tell you.

I would say thats definitely a driver issue.
U built the hdd from your system into the system of a friend right ?
Can you tell me if both of you have the same graphics card ?
If not, this will explain a lot
-
my friend had a 6 gb hd and she was given an old tiny computer that had a 30gb one, so i took it out the tiny one and put it in hers. As for the graphics card they probably have got different ones but i am useless with graphics cards so cant tell u what they are.............help!
-
Well, the problem is that the grpahics card is recognized as a standard vga card which puts some limits to resolution and colour depth. To make the card work to its full potential you will have to install the correct driver. Therefore you need information on what card it is. When u say u have no clue which card it is, and the online scan only results in a standard vga card then there is one last thing to do....take out the card and have a look at the graphics chip (usually the biggest chip on the circuit board) and see if u can find a name or manufacturer on it.
If u are really lucky you might also find the name of the card printer on the circuit board

ok help me on this one lol
there is a modem and a video card and a bios chip but cant see anything else
