I have an older Twinhead laptop that I formatted, & I have W98 startup disk; it has no PCMCIA drivers on it. I copied the files from the diskette that came with CD Rom Drive and put them on the C and also D hard drive, but there is no recognition that I have a CD Rom drive connected, thus I cannot install W98. Am I going to be able to get this laptop to accept the CD drive? Is there any other way to install W98?

Laptops are not my forte but..... Try this bootdisk. If that doesn't work try this one.
