No System Startup

    Unhappy No System Startup

    Hello, wonder if you can help.

    On starting up my computer, gives error message, Replace system disc and strike any key when ready. There is nothing in any of the drives.

    Please help

    The machine isn't finding your boot files. Are your hard disks indentified correctly in your POST screen? (POST = Power On Self Test)

    Can you clarify or elaborate on this; "There is nothing in any of the drives." How did you conclude this?

    Boot with a 98 or 98SE bootdisk. If you don't have one you can get one here. (If you download this file, don't save it on a floppy. You have to click on the file to create a startup disk on one of your floppies.)

    Choose No CDROM support. When you get the A:\> prompt, type in;

    fdisk

    choose option 4 - Display partition information. Post back exactly what it says.
