    Window protection error and VxD

I need serious help. On 3-16-05 I was updating my hardwares and I have to restart my computer and I did. When the computer starts up it went to a blue screen. "An exception 0D has occurred at 0028:00000003 in VxD ---.
This was called from 0028:C146AE83 in VxD---. It may be possible to continue normally." Then I pressed enter and it went to another blue screen "Window protection error. You need to restore your computer. System halted." I did as I was told. I restart my computer and the message is still there and I try to restart my computer for 20 times and the message is still the same. It only let me go into safe mode.

    What "hardwares" were you "updating"?

Is this the full error (2nd part): This was called from 0028:C146AE83 in VxD---

Is there no other data after VxD?

Have you tried "undoing" whatever hardware updating you were doing?

    Did you try System Restore?

I was updating Intel(r) 82810 Grraphics Controller 4.12.01.2604, Intel 82801AA Bus Master IDE Controller,
AC'97 Driver for Intel(r) 82801AA Controller, Intel 82801AA LPC Interface Controller, Intel 82801AA PCI Bridge,
Intel 82801 System and Graphics Controller, and Intel(r) 82801AA USB Universal Host Controller. Yea there's more VxD errors 0028:C147A373, 0028:C147A2F3 and there's still more. All the VxD are 0028:00000003 I don't know how to undo the updating. I try System Restore but it won't work.

    Was this a BIOS upgrade?

Or some other type of package?

As to the error is there anything resembling the following:

An exception OD had occurred at 0028:00000003 in VxD ---This was called from 0028:c001D384 in VxD NDIS (01)+00005830

BIOS (bī´ōs) Acronym for basic input/output system, the built-in software that determines what a computer can do without accessing programs from a disk. On PCs, the BIOS contains all the code required to control the keyboard, display screen, disk drives, serial communications, and a number of miscellaneous functions.
Everything you listed as updating would most likely be under the BIOS.

What was it that you were installing? A driver package? Or?

Do you know if it was a Flash BIOS? Were you running it off a boot floppy?

What is the make & model of the computer? The motherboard? What was the BIOS update? Name? Number?

I am trying to understand what exactly you did.

What was the source of these upgrades?

Also do you have your eMachines Recovery disk?
