If I may interject, have you made sure you have USB2.0 drivers first installed? This MB is only capable of USB1.1 native support just like 98Se is only native to USB1.1

i am not refering to the CDRW drivers, but the USB2.0 controller drivers.

hmm...maybe you should send me a few of those drivers too. my computer is a gateway profile 3 if that helps.

Just A Note,the External Cdrw Is Usb 2.0,your P.c. Usb Ports May Be 1.0. If This Is The Case They Are Not Compataible.you Would Have To Get A 2.0 Usb Card.
