Help!! I have 2 desktop pc's attached to a server. one is working fine so I assume the server is okay. The other pc boots up, goes thru the set up sequence and then locks on the windows 98 screen. Unfortunately this computer is kind of like a slave and has no floppy or disc drives in it.

I have run scandisk and directories from Dos and everything looks normal but the Windows 98 screen is as far as I get.

Any suggestions? Thanks to all for a response

Can you get in, in SAFE MODE? (Hold F8 on boot for menu options)

Have tried to start it in safe but it still locks on that screen or I get a rectangular box that says no signal found

My 98 did that every morning, sometimes 3-4 times just sitting there on the splash screen. I never did figure why it was doing it, just kept hitting the reset button and the occasional nudge of the box with my foot and away it would go. You might check the connections to the server but I think its a 98 problem. I havent had it since going up to ME.
