I have a 52x creative cd rom (cd5233E) that recently began acting crazy; it started after I tried to install an ethernet card which didnt work and was removed. The cd rom shows up in MY Computer as D drive but doesnt show in device manager. It will play music on the cd player program in accessories but it wont record music into media player or juke box. When I try recording music in, I get a msg saying error trying to read cd -- not reading digital and switched to analog; it tells me to use options to switch to digital but I am unable to. The media player program does however lists the number of tracks on the cd in the cd rom and shows the number of minutes for each track.

I have tried removing, reinstalling; reinstalling driver, etc. Nothing works so far. I have another computer with the exact type cd rom and notice several differences when I check properties, etc. However, I cant figure out how to get this cd rom to function properly like the other one.
