I updated Windows 2000 updates and installed F secure. Now I cannot collect Hotmail messages with Outlook 2002 (I used to be able to). I was told that I should upgrade to Hotmail plus to do this so I did and it made no differecne at all. I get the error message 0x8007045A whenever I try to download the messages and cannot see the hotmail folder in outlook. I can go onto the internet and get/see them that way. What have I done?

Is F-secure an anti-virus or firewall program? I think it is. Does it include "email scanning" ? If so, this often changes your connection settings to your mail server and, sometimes, means that you can't retrieve mail any more. I had this same problem when I installed AVG anti-virus software recently. Try disabling any email scanning option in your anti-virus software and see if you still get the same problem.
