I am trying to upgrade from windows 95 to 98 but everytime it goes through the process it tells me that there is currently and os on the HDD and it makes me close out the 98 installation. It also says that I need to get a version that is upgradable to. Well I have no idea what to do can some one give me some ideas?

It sounds like you have the install CD for the full version of Win 98 not
the upgrade. I've upgraded Win95b to Win98 without problem using the
Upgrade CD. I did run into problems when I used a full version CD by
mistake.

One trick I did was to launch the PC in Win95, rename WIN.COM to WIN.XXX or
something like that, then run the Win98 upgrade from the Win98 CD. The
upgrade only seems to check that one file. The upgrade ran perfectly,
restarted in Win98, with no problems.

Yea I already pulled up on here where I had to change the win.com to something else. Its working now and man you have been a lot of help over the last coulple of days and I wanted to say thanks!
