hello, another problem with my computer is that we are trying to restore it back to original(to get all the internet crap that's been downlooaded out) when we get to the 3rd step in resoring it, the coomputer freezes! anything i try to get it back to normal, it won't let us. help?!!!

its the hp recoverydisks for win 98, and when the disk goes in, it tells me to restart the comp., when it comes back on, it sends me thru 3 screens(intro, and then 2 more). that's about all I can tell you.

what is on the screen when the computer freezes?

all i know about it it is a hewlett packard, (wal mart special in 99) with win 98 on it. the screen it freezes on is where it says restore/ about/exit...it won't go anywhere after that. and in order to get it unfroze, I have to hold the button in to shut it off. i'm not at home putting this in, so I cann't tell.sorry

ok i'm home now its a hp pavilion computer. the disks for the printer installed ok, it takes around 5 minutes per page to download on the inter net so i can't really surf, and i get error messages that say iframe and object. also about a week ago, the connection to the internet started popping up, you x out of it, and it pops right back up...until i give up and just leave it there and work around it. so, is my computer screwed?

sorry about running the spyspotter/hijacker stuff. i ran all of that and my computer won't allow me to post anything that might fix my computer. in the process of running it, i found what i believe is a virus by dolomite. ex. dolomites_got_you,dolomite rules you, dolomite is gggrrrrreeeeeaaaaattttt!!!, etc. along with some twisted stuff that I DO NOT WANT associated near me or my computer! we completely deleted the system of everything, and are still trying to put everything back in, but the recovery disks still freeze, so we have to put things in one at a time. fortunately, i do not put any financial info into my computer or the net anywhere, so I guess this hacker is out of luck with me and wasted his time!
